Explore everything that Zagreb offers not only in the strict centre but around it as well. Combining a walking tour and a panoramic car tour, you will get a complete experience of the city in all its varieties. During the panoramic part of the tour, our guide will take you by car to visit Maksimir park, Mirogoj cemetery, Jarun Lake and the so-called Green Horseshoe, as these locations are too distant between each other to include them in a walking tour.
Maksimir is the biggest and oldest public park in Zagreb, and one of the favourite spots for leisure of the local people. Nearby the park you can observe the city Zoo and the Maksimir stadium. Next on our list is the oldest cemetery of Zagreb – Mirogoj, which was opened in 1876. The cemetery is famous for its monumental neo-renaissance arcades and tombs of many famous Croatians from political and cultural life lay there. Later on, we will spend some time relaxing and having a cup of coffee in a bar near the Jarun Lake. The Green Horseshoe is maybe the most famous urban symbol of Zagreb. It is a sequence of seven squares, fitted in art-nouveau historical buildings and palaces mixed with green surfaces in a round U shape. The panoramic tour of this area includes the Zrinjevac Square, the Botanical Gardens and a series of squares named after historic Croatian figures: King Tomislav, Ante Starčević, J.J. Strossmayer Square, Marko Marulić, Ivan Mažuranić and finally the Marshal Tito Square with the Croatian National Theatre in the middle of it.
After the panoramic part of the tour we will proceed getting to know the historical centre of the city, visiting both the Upper and Lower town during an hour and a half walking tour with our knowledgeable guide.
