With a population of just 650.000, Montegro is an enchanting place, so incredibly geographically diverse, despite of the fact that its area covers just around 13 000 km2. From the snow covered mountain peaks and steep fiord-like hills to the pebble covered, miles long beaches alongside the coast of the Adriatic sea….that is all Montenegro. The tour starts from Dubrovnik driving south alongside the Adriatic coast to the Montenegro border. The drive continues along the Kotor bay (Europe’s most southern fiord) passing the cities Igalo, Herceg Novi (two great Turkish, later Venetian fortresses), Bijela, Kamenari and having a break in the beautiful Perast from where we’ll enjoy the view of 2 small islands with monasteries in the middle of them. Our next stop is Kotor, nested in the very bottom of eponymous bay surrounded by the cliffs and slopes of the neighbouring mountains. In Kotor during the walking tour we will visit all the most important sights (Venetian Palaces, Orthodox Church, St. Triphon – Kotor’s protector Catholic Church, massive city walls and St. John fortress standing 300m above the city. After a lunch break in Kotor we continue to Budva – one of the most visited seaside resorts in this part of Europe. Budva combines its historic importance and numerous monuments with its present reputation of being amongst the world’s top nightlife and partying destinations. The beach Jaz lately became very famous because it hosts many music events. Big stars such as Madonna, the Rolling Stones, Lenny Kravitz and many others were performing on it. Experience Montenegro and all of its diversities with our expert and friendly tour guides that will make sure that you spend an amazing day away from Dubrovnik.
